Dr. Sarah Nosal selected as president-elect of the AAFP

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sarah Nosal, MD, FAAFP, was selected as president-elect of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Beginning next fall, she will lead the organization in its efforts to advocate on behalf of family physicians, residents, medical students and patients nationwide and work toward positive change in the health care industry.

Dr. Nosal is the Institute’s Vice President for Innovation and Optimization and Chief Medical Information Officer. Under Dr. Nosal’s leadership, the Institute has become a leader in ensuring equitable access to health information technology tools. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Nosal was instrumental in shaping the Institute’s response, leading, among other things, the roll-out of comprehensive telehealth services. She has practiced for over two decades at the Institute’s Urban Horizons Family Health Center and consistently achieves top quality performance metrics. Dr. Nosal is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, and currently serves as Co-Medical Director of the ECHO Free Clinic, a long-time collaboration between the Institute and Einstein.
