The Institute acknowledges Zero HIV Stigma Day

July 24, 2025

July 21 was Zero HIV Stigma Day, a day to acknowledge that stigma remains a significant barrier to care for HIV despite decades of progress in prevention and treatment. HIV stigma not only discourages individuals from seeking testing and treatment, but also contributes to poor health outcomes and undermines public health efforts.

Accurate information about HIV is now readily available, and HIV treatment is safer and more effective than ever. The power to end stigma lies with people living without HIV, to stand up and speak out against prejudice and misinformation.

At the Institute for Family Health, you will find a caring, supportive environment where you can build a team of respectful providers who can help you stay healthy if you are HIV positive. Our providers, case managers and community wellness advocates work together to offer:

  • HIV medical care from providers who are HIV specialists
  • Health education and counseling
  • Mental health services
  • LGBTQ+ inclusive services
  • Referrals to specialty care when needed
  • And so much more!
