Dutchess County Healthy Families
If you are expecting a baby or have an infant under 3 months old and you live in Dutchess County, we are here to support you. Our services are free and voluntary. We can provide support, information, and resources to help give your children a great beginning and foster healthy family relationships.
Services and Resources We Provide
Healthy Families Dutchess County has highly trained supportive staff to make visits to your home, provide information, and support your family around:
- Information about pregnancy, breastfeeding, newborn care, and parental bonding
- Information about your baby’s health and development
- Healthy coping strategies for stressful parenting situations
- Information about your health and development through pregnancy and postpartum
- Understanding child development milestones and behaviors
- Support for breastfeeding and caring for your baby
- Encouragement with positive parenting techniques
- Connecting parents to community resources
Parents who are pregnant or have at least one child less than 3 months of age may be eligible to be screened for services.
Support is offered at no cost to the family. Families who participate in Healthy Families may be offered long term-in home services until their child enters school or Head Start
Anyone can make a referral to HFNY for you; you can even refer yourself! Simply fill out the Community Referral and send to the office in person, mail, email or fax.
